10 Ann Mashburn Items I Own and Love
It’s no surprise to even casual readers that I’m obsessed with Ann Mashburn—I’ve been wearing the brand since about a month after its founding, and so many of my pieces have served me well over the past decade. The brand has two sales per year and they are always excellent—this one is no exception! I’ve sorted through the extensive offerings and pulled together my edit, which you can find here. I also thought it would be helpful to highlight some of my most-worn pieces in case you’re considering investing! Below are ten Ann Mashburn pieces I own and love that are included in the sale.
Hadley Sweater Dress (c/o)
I’ve written extensively about this dress over the fall and it’s truly one of my favorite pieces in my closet. I love the stitching on this dress, as well as the weight of it—it’s substantial without being overly warm. The bottle green color is pretty unique, which is great—I’m tired of everyone being the same copy-paste beige version of each other. Plus, pockets!!
I sized up in this (S instead of XS), which means that the dress has the perfect loose-but-still-tailored fit and it falls to my knees. I loved wearing this with loafers to make it elegant but still casual. Definitely my go-to for the fall.
Superfine Funnel Neck sweater (c/o)
This sweater has gotten me through all kinds of weather—those fall days with a slight chill in the air to the arctic blasts we’ve been having this week. It’s perfect on its own or as a base layer (and is there anything more luxurious than a cashmere base layer??) I have my eye on the silver color to pair with this ball skirt.
This is the most similar cut to the grey flannel trousers I wear on repeat, and because those are finally starting to wear out, I’m going to add another color to my wardrobe during the sale. There’s nothing like a good elegant wool trouser in the winter, particularly in New York. These are a great pair and will keep you comfortable yet polished, even when commuting.
Ball skirt (c/o)
I’m a firm believer that you really only need one very good black tie outfit, and for a decade that’s been a sleek and elegant Ann Mashburn evening skirt. Unfortunately, my days of not really exercising caught up with me, and I needed to replace it at last. This one has been at the very tip-top of my wishlist for years, and it was the BEST Christmas present from the Mashburn team! The self-tie waist means there’s a little wiggle room, and the pleats remind me of my very first Ann Mashburn purchase, the box pleat skirt I loved so much.
Rosie cardigan (c/o)
A wardrobe staple that’s anything but basic: the Rosie cardigan is a really versatile sweater and a great piece to wear with jeans, khakis, a skirt, or a dress. I also love the beaded version for cocktail parties. I sized up for a looser, but still trim, fit.
Driving moccasins to me are so 70s preppy-hippie—a perfect blend. They’re also super-practical for a more down-to-earth shoe, particularly on casual days. I love this shearling version, which is perfect for winter.
I finally bought these slippers earlier this year and they bring me so much joy! They’re cozy and practical. I’ve seen sizing notes say to size up; I did and would definitely advise against that. I found they ran TTS and stretched a bit with wear.
I have a lot of Ann Mashburn cashmere and the sweaters are some of my favorite in my wardrobe. The Sydney crewneck is a great illustration of how really good pieces cut really well instantly elevate an outfit. There’s nothing more basic than a crewneck sweater, but this one has that effortless chic that one always aspires to (and rarely finds).
My very first shirt purchase from Ann Mashburn was a boyfriend shirt and it’s still in rotation in my closet. I love wearing mine with jeans, as a beach coverup, or just hanging around the house. Perfectly oversized (take your true size) without drowning you. I love this shirt in stripes particularly.
The Ann Mashburn shirtdress is one of the first pieces that caught my eye when the brand started, so I’m always on the hunt for one in a print that matches my life today. This one is such a great neutral without being too ladylike or fussy.
