Outfit Post: Christmas Shopping in the Village

I had a great time playing tourist in my hometown the other week! It was the first time I’d officially taken a day off work in years, and it was so nice to walk around, admire the decorations, finish my Christmas shopping, and have brunch at Buvette. (I even made a little reel of some of my favorite decorations here!) Earlier this holiday season, I wrote a post about making a day of your Christmas shopping, the way people used to–browse the shops with list in hand, take time out for a delicious lunch, and head happily home laden with gifts for your loved ones. It was a deeply enjoyable day, and a good reminder to get out more and take time to enjoy ourselves.

My friend snapped this photo shortly before I headed back home. I love wearing my mother’s scarf, but I rarely take the opportunity to do so–something else I want to work on incorporating into my wardrobe this coming year! This sweater was also hers. It was a comfortable but festive outfit for a festive day!

  1. This is such a fun look, and I love the way you styled socks with the loafers and jeans. I often skip socks because I never feel like they look quite right – I’ll have to check out those trouser socks!
