Five Sales I’m Shopping (That Aren’t Prime Day)

I, like everyone else in the world, shop on Amazon, but there are certain things I’d never buy there: books, clothes, and appliances. (For me, Amazon is about Ziploc bags and other household goods, at least for the most part). As we firmly enter Summer Sale Season, here are five sales I’m browsing instead, and my top picks from each.

A note: I’ve carefully gone through each item in each sale I’m recommending, and you can rest assured all items on this list are made well from natural fibers!

Dôen’s warehouse sale

Dôen has been on my radar since my friend Amy wore one of their dresses to a polo match about a decade ago. I love their nostalgic look at style, and their warehouse sale is one to browse! These shorts, this dress, and this tee are examples of the perfectly elevated staples the brand does so well.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

I’m not one for shopping sales just for the sake of sales, but I do find the summer sales a good time to fill wardrobe gaps in my fall and winter wardrobes, as well as stock up on “beauty empties” (not that I use many beauty products!) Here are my five top picks for Nordstrom’s sale.

I’m finally coming to the realization that my Barbours aren’t going to cut it much longer for our cold northeast winters, and a new wool coat is on my list. This one is a wool/cashmere blend with NO polyester or anything else at a really great price… plus it’s reversible!

I use these bags every day in the fall/winter and this is a great autumn color! There’s also an expandable version on sale.

This is my one beauty indulgence and it’s available at an incredible price during the sale!

I’ve had my eye on this sweater for years and now is the time to buy: it’s perfectly elevated for a work outfit.

A quilted jacket is a forever wardrobe staple, and I have a version of this one for early fall days!

A.P.C.’s summer sale

A.P.C. has basics that are so elegant they hardly feel like basics at all. The A.P.C. pieces in my wardrobe are all at least a decade old and, even with heavy wear, look chic and elegant. For their summer sale, I love their demi-lune wallet (perfect for holding all that you need and nothing more), the Grace bag (incredible leather in a classic shape and color), a great white tee, and classic jeans.

Hampden Clothing’s summer sale

I love supporting small businesses, and while I’ve never visited Hampden Clothing in person, their online shopping experience is without parallel. I love that (for non-sale items) you can try several sizes on for each piece and return what doesn’t fit. It’s an easy and stress-free solution to not knowing your size! The Hampden Clothing edit is tight and well-done; the sale is just as good. I love this cashmere shell, this wool dress, and this skirt.

Ann Mashburn’s summer sale

Saving the best for last! The Mashburns run two sales a year and they are always incredible. As always, I can’t narrow down my choices: I recommend browsing the complete sale yourself, filtering by size to make sure you don’t set your heart on something that won’t fit!
