Looking Ahead to 2023
Now that Christmas is over, we’re in that final sprint before 2023 begins. While I always take the Christmas season to be one of reflection, this week is even more a time to think back on what I’ve learned and plan for the future.
I’ve learned a lot from this year in many ways–personally, professionally, and with writing this blog. I’ve started new practices to improve my life, most of which have to do with being more organized. I’m so proud that I managed to switch over from sporadically adding events into my online calendar to completely adding every. single. thing I need to do to my planner. This was a huge step for me, and it’s felt really good to have my life more organized. I also have valued the shift from a digital life to one that is more concrete.
I realize the irony of writing that online, but I’ve learned that it’s so nice to shift away from a digital life to a “real” one. After almost three years of the pandemic and five plus years of mostly remote work, I’m valuing the real-life connections more than ever. It’s so nice to have coffee with people in person, to take a day off once a year to do my Christmas shopping, to chat with new friends during school drop-off.
This year, I’m working on making things more concrete. I’ve been toying with a few ideas of expanding Fewer & Better, including a monthly newsletter (you can sign up here!) I’m looking forward to continuing to research these alternatives, and will share with you as soon as I have anything definite in place.
In the meantime, I wish you a happy final week of 2022 and a wonderful first week of 2023!
