My Go-To Wedding Gifts
It’s almost wedding season! There’s nothing I love more than celebrating the people I love, no matter the occasion, and a wedding is always special. But what to give? More and more couples are opting for “honeymoon funds” or electing not to register, and picking a good gift can feel like an overwhelming task. So what do you give? Here are my five go-to wedding gifts. (And remember, you have up to a year after the couple’s wedding to give a gift without being late!)
Caviar gift set from Russ & Daughters
My approach towards gift giving is always to give a luxury you wouldn’t necessarily buy for yourself. I absolutely love caviar and it’s such a fun delicacy–Russ & Daughters offers a number of caviar gift sets (including mother-of-pearl spoons!) on Goldbelly. You can give as a gift via the site and the recipient can determine the date of delivery at their convenience!
Breakfast in bed tray from Scully & Scully
This has personally been on my wish list for many years (hint hint…!)–my grandparents had these in their house and there was nothing better than having breakfast in bed without worrying about spilling everything! Bonus (albeit an unromantic one): you can use the tray as a work surface.
A sheepskin rug
If you haven’t stepped out of bed or the shower onto a sheepskin mat, I’m not sure you’ve even lived. Sheepskin rugs are a forever go-to gift for me. They are one of the most simple yet luxurious purchases I’ve ever made, and I’m sure your recipients will feel the same. The only problem will be who gets to use it!
Vintage barware
The couple may have registered for a china pattern or glassware, but there are an enormous number of other options they may not have considered… until they need it. Whether you gift cocktail napkins or an incredible cocktail shaker, pair with a favorite bottle for a fun and useful gift. I love tracking down beautiful vintage barware for myself, and there are always so many fun and beautiful pieces to find to add to a friend’s collection. I love Houses & Parties and Thrills of the Hunt for fun and unique pieces. You can read my guide to online antique and vintage shopping, including my favorite sources, here!
Couples’ stationery
This is a bit tricky, but it’s an incredible gift for a couple you know well. After their wedding, there will obviously be lots of thank-you notes to write–new engraved stationery might be just the ticket! I love Dempsey & Carroll (and am proud to be a brand ambassador)–you can find their personalized stationery here and use SARAHC for 10% off.
What were the best gifts you received for your wedding?
This is a lovely list, thank you for taking the time to put it together. The caviar set and sheepskin rug are unique ideas that I will be saving for the future. We received a vintage silver champagne bucket from my aunt and uncle as a wedding gift, and it is one of my favorite things. I often use as a vase for flowers too, as it has a beautiful and classic shape.
